Gwen Stefani Joins ‘The Voice’ As A Judge

Gwen Stefani is joining the cast of The Voice as a judge for the new season–sitting in for “Voice Queen” Christina Aguilera. The perpetually hot 44-year-old former No Doubt singer is joining the seventh season of the NBC show, along with Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and (maybe the biggest pop star in the world right now) Pharrell Williams. Pharrell and Gwen are replacing Usher and Shakira. Don’t get too used to that, though. Stefani signed a one-year contract, with the expectation that Christina is going to reclaim her spot after she gives birth to her second child.

We’re pretty excited about Gwen joining, but are sad to see Shakira leave. It was always nice to tune into her. Part of us would also like to see The Voice go with a more controversial judge every once and a while. NBC seems to only ever want to play it safe with established veterans. Why not bring Miley on as a voice coach? She could show aspiring singers how to sing–and, more importantly how to twerk. Just take a look at some of the dance moves she could help teach…
