Lake Bell Goes Topless for Esquire May 2014 [15 PHOTOS]

Lake Bell

Esquire magazine really loves the Women They Love, and Lake Bell gets lots of attention with her topless turn on the cover of the latest issue. In fact, the latest Esquire cover asks if Lake Bell is “the most important actor/director/writer of her generation?” That’s particularly bold since the only movie that Lake Bell has written and directed was last year’s In A World…–which took on the big issue of how tough it is for a gal to get a job doing voiceovers on movie trailers.

We haven’t even heard that many voiceovers on movie trailers lately. Isn’t that kind of a moot point? Well, the important thing is that you have to read the interview to get an idea of what Esquire is really trying to say with that cover blurb. But since Lake Bell is posing topless on the cover of Esquire, there are a lot of guys probably won’t even notice the cover copy. And the interview might get neglected, too, since it features pics like this…

Anyway, it’s great to see Lake Bell still getting lots of attention. In A World… was still a pretty smart movie, and she’s also directed some episodes of Adult Swim’s Children’s Hospital, where she’s also a regular character. That’s pretty important work.

She’s continuing to cultivate fans, too. We’ve been following Lake ever since the 2005 sci-fi series Surface, which managed to wrap up its sole season with a big finish. Lake’s been working steadily ever since, and we’re looking forward to seeing her on the big screen with Jon Hamm in the upcoming baseball drama Million Dollar Arm. This Esquire article sure warrants some attention, and you can check out these other pics to see why Lake is Esquire‘s idea of a million-dollar woman–if we’re not lowballing it…
