Who’s carrying on the torch for the DVD/Blu-Ray release of Anchorman 2? That’d be David Koechner–who too many people only know as sportscaster Champ Kind. The veteran of Chicago’s Second City comedy troupe was already back in town for his comedy tour, so he made it to the Pirates/Cubs game at Wrigley Field to throw the ceremonial first pitch.
And then, in a moment equally worthy of his work as The Office‘s Todd Packer, Koechner also took over leading the traditional 7th-inning stretch singalong, which looked kind of like this…
We’ll help Koechner shill the Anchorman 2 DVD release by reminding you that the release incldes the original Theatrical Version, the Unrated Version and, the Super-Sized R-Rated Version with 763 new jokes–so that’s a real bargain.
We’ll also recommend catching Koechner like you’ve never seen him before in Cheap Thrills. That bizarre indie is currently in the art houses, and includes the very thrilling Sara Paxton. Anyway, we always enjoy when life imitates art, and we’re sure Koechner’s presence took some of the whammy out of the Cubs losing to the Pirates. Yeah. That always helps.
