Famed bouncer, actor, wrestler and fool puncher Mr. T will inducted into the World Wrestling Entertainment’s Hall of Fame. WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon announced that Mr. T would join the ranks of fellow Hall of Fame stars such as Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant and Shawn Michaels as part of a special induction ceremony on April 5th that will also air on the WWE Network. So far, he’s the only confirmed name for the upcoming Hall of Fame induction.
You’re probably wondering why it’s taken Mr. T this long to get into the WWE’s Hall of Fame, and what sorry fool prevented him from being honored all this time. Actually, the fool in question was Mr. T. It feels like a long, overdue honor because he’s earned many pegs in pop culture history but some of his most memorable moments happened in the wrestling ring like his epic tag-team match with Hulk Hogan and his boxing/wrestling match with Rowdy Roddy Piper…

Naturally the WWE thought the man deserved to be honored for contributions to the sport and first extended him an invitation to join their HOF back in 2009 but he declined it. He told The Mirror that he didn’t like the fact that the WWE decided to also extend the honor to baseball player Pete Rose, the Cincinnati Reds slugger who famously bet on baseball while he was still a pro and yet to be honored with a Hall of Fame mention by Major League Baseball. It seems, however, that Mr. T has settled his difference with the WWE’s Hall of Fame and that they are no longer in his personal “fool” column.
