Tracy McGrady Is Moving From The NBA To Baseball [VIDEO]

Former NBA All-Star Tracy McGrady wants to try baseball. After throwing for the Sugar Land Skeeters of the Atlantic League on Monday, he’s obviously pretty good at it. He threw a 20-minute bullpen session and left the team impressed along the way. He may not be throwing the ball 100 MPH like some of the major league pitchers are today, but he’s tall enough to make his slower pitches look faster.

The next thing to see is if the team actually decides to sign McGrady. He’s getting the best help he can in trying to realize his dream–which is to say that he’s working with Roger Clemens. While Clemens has a decorated past for other reasons, he is still one of the greatest pitchers in baseball history. Maybe he can give McGrady some tips of how to throw faster. That should be enough to at least get McGrady a job with the independent league team in Texas. He’s already working his celebrity, too…

Every player has got to start somewhere. When Michael Jordan tried his hand at baseball 20 years ago, he was at the Double-A level. McGrady isn’t to that level yet but could work his way in that direction if he can show that he can be a competent pitcher. He is 6-8 which will make him a force on the mound just like Randy Johnson was in his heyday while pitches appear to be coming in faster. This is something that all sports fans are going to be watching over the summer while McGrady takes on this new quest.
