20 Things You Didn’t Know About The Exorcist


Popularly regarded as the scariest movie ever made, The Exorcist first spooked theaters on December 26, 1973. That’s forty years ago today: four complete decades of Linda Blair as little Regan, Fathers Merrin and Karras waging heavenly warfare, Pazuzu, Captain Howdy, the spinning head, the projectile pea soup, and “The power of Christ compels you!”

It’s also an indication that, given The Exorcist’s Yuletide release date, big studio Christmas movies were a lot cooler and/or freakier back then.
