St. Louis Falls to Boston in Game One, but Carlos Beltran Made A Catch Of The Century

The St. Louis Cardinals lost 8-1 to the Boston Red Sox in Game 1 of the 2013 World Series last night, but they at least could hang their hats on Carlos Beltran’s amazing, grand slam saving catch in the 1st inning.

Was it worth it? Sadly for Cardinals fans, probably no. Beltran had to leave with a rib contusion and all three runners on base ended up scoring anyways.

Still though, it’s nice to have your World Series catch up there in rankings with Willie Mays‘ over the shoulder classic. So Carlos has that going for him, which is nice.
