The Guinness International Champions Cup Comes To NYC [PHOTOS]


Every year, people swear that soccer is finally becoming a bigger sport in the United States but it hasn’t been until this year that a major club tournament finally landed on American shores. Dubbed the inaugural¬†Guinness International Champions Cup, eight of the biggest professional club teams from four countries played in a bracket-style tournament over a period of 12 days.

In order to bring the full experience to a larger audience, the games were played in stadiums around the country. Since we’re based in NYC, we were dying for a chance to get to the August 4th matches played at The Metlife Stadium. Thanks to Guinness and Taylor PR, we got our chance.

As part of a two-leg series of games, we were lucky enough to go see both Valencia CF (Spain) play AC Milan (Italy) and Chelsea (England) play Inter Milan (Italy).
