In this week of “NFL Upon Further Review”, The Titans pull off another Music City Miracle, Kevin Ogletree slips on a hat, Mohammed Sanu goes green, Tony Romo gets jacked up by the Bucs defense, and why Bill Belichick’s likely getting called for a holding penalty. Plus we also bring you the best of this week’s Celebrations and our obligatory preview of the Monday Night Football game between the Seahawks and the Packers. Let’s start with my favorite, the celebration GIFs.
It’s A Celebration, B*tches [Week 3 Celebration GIFs]
Someone please remind Cam that he’s still losing by a lot.
Jared Odrick explains why this pointless section exists.
Jacoby Jones has 99 Problems but a flag ain’t one.
Tony Gonzalez Fadeaway.
This section has needed some eye-candy for awhile…
But clearly Bill is not happy with our choce of said “eye-candy.”
Torrey Smith Plays His Heart Out
In light of all the negativity and finger-pointing at the referees this season, we thought it would be nice to highlight a somewhat heartwarming story this week. On Sunday morning at 1 AM, Torrey Smith was awoken by a phone-call. It was then that he learned that his brother had died in a motorcycle accident. Unsure of whether or not he’d suit up for the game, Torrey eventually got dressed and helped his team with 2 TDs and 127 yards. Our hearts go out to Torrey and his family.
Now back to your regularly-programmed bullsh*t.
Tim Tebow Runs Fake Punt
It took a couple of weeks but New York Jets back-up quarterback Tim Tebow finally made his presence known as he got a chance to shine on the below fake punt against the Miami Dolphins. Watch as Tebow powers it through for a five-yard gain and a first down for the Jets. However, Tebow had another chance to make a big play as a receiver but the ball bounced off his helmet.
Music City Miracle, Part 2?
Although the last Music City Miracle was nearly 12 years ago, the Tennessee Titans pulled off some special teams trickery in their game against the Detroit Lions. Watch as Titans return man Darius Reynaud throws a cross-field lateral to Tommy Campbell for the 65-yard punt return touchdown.
Belichick Likely Called For Holding Penalty
After the game, it looks like Belichick had a few words for the referees. Now maybe he’ll have a few bills.
Sanu Makes A Green Play
Before making this touchdown throw, Bengals rookie wide receiver Mohamed Sanu was best known as the guy who got pranked by a fake call during the 2012 NFL Draft.
However, the Rutgers star showed off his throwing arm on this play as he connected with teammate A.J. Green for a 73-yard touchdown out of the wildcat. Take That, Tebow!
Romo Gets JACKED UP!!!
Yesterday, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo got introduced to Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle Gerald McCoy in a not-so nice way.
Watch as McCoy gets the huge sack on Romo in the second quarter with a helmet-to-helmet hit.
Mr. Washington Goes To The End Zone
I’m ready to give Tennessee Titans wide receiver Nate Washington the “Catch of the Year” award after this effort late against the Detroit Lions.
Watch as Titans quarterback Jake Locker under throws Washington but somehow Nate reaches behind Lions cornerback Jacob Lacey and makes the catch for the eventual touchdown to tie the game.
Here’s The Ravens-Patriots Streaker NBC Didn’t Show
Why do the networks cut away from streakers who aren’t actually naked? Last night’s coverage was interrupted for more than a few seconds when this anti-bullying streaker came onto the field. Notice how he goes untouched for awhile.
We know the refs are in a lockout, but how about security?
Replacement Ref throws hat, Cowboys player slips on it
Just when you thought that you had seen it all from the NFL replacement officials, this clip of a rogue referee hat comes to us from the Dallas Cowboys/Tampa Bay Buccaneers game.
In the second quarter of play, Dallas was in the red zone and Cowboys wide receiver Kevin Ogletree was attempting to run a route in the end zone. Watch as a referee hat comes flying in from the back judge and Ogletree nearly slips on it.
MNF: Green Bay Packers at Seattle Seahawks
This week, Monday Night Football travels to the Pacific Northwest as the Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers face off against Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks. The Packers will need to deal with “Seattle’s 12th Man Fans” as they look to gain control of the NFC North.
We all know that Aaron Rodgers is going to put together a solid performance but the key for the Packers will be their defense as they look to stop Seattle’s running threat of Marshawn Lynch. Seattle’s offense led by rookie quarterback Russell Wilson looked good last week against Dallas but the Packers linebacking core is clearly better than the Cowboys.
This game will be close but I expect the other A-Rod to lead Green Bay to a 2-1 start.
Coed’s Prediction: Green Bay Packers 24 – Seattle Seahawks 21
(MNF Predictions 1-1)
