45th Parallel Vodka is produced in a small, family-owned distillery in the Western Wisconsin town of New Richmond, just east of downtown Minneapolis. Using a hands on approach, every drop in every bottle of 45th Parallel Vodka is entirely produced and bottled within their Wisconsin distillery. The grains used to produce this unique vodka is said to be of the highest quality, and is sourced from local cheese head farmers.
Distillation of 45th Parallel is best described as painstaking! They patiently ferment the mash and slowly distill it in small batches to avoid unwanted flavors and impurities. This method of distillation embraces the natural flavors extracted from the grains what they say is an expression of the land.
Proof: 80 (40% ABV)
Taste: B (Good)
Mix-ability: B+ (Very Good)
Buzz Factor: B (Good)
Price: $29.99 USD (1 liter)
Overall: We give 45th Parallel Vodka a B (Recommended). We preferred this vodka best when mixed… Like most vodkas we’ve come across recently, it’s a bit too harsh to enjoy straight or on the rocks. That being said 45th Parallel falls somewhere between Skyy and SVEDKA, good, but not great. A worthy base for a multitude of concoctions!

1 tsp Blue Curacao liqueur, 2 oz orange juice, 1 oz passion-fruit juice.

Matured slowly in American white oak barrels before being expertly blended to create the final product – Cockspur Five Star Rum is said to be significantly smoother than many other rums you’ll find on the market today. Recently the good people at Cockspur reached out to us, and we happily agreed to review their unique rum blend and share our findings with you!
Proof: 80 (40% ABV)
Flavors: vanilla and molasses
Taste: B+ (Very Good)
Mix-ability: A- (Excellent)
Buzz Factor: B+ (Very Good)
Price: $18.99 USD (750ml)
Overall: We give Cockspur Fine Star Rum a B+ (Highly Recommended). This is a truly awesome base for mixing a variety of drinks. We wouldn’t necessarily recommend drinking Cockspur as a shooter, though if you’re a “real man” you can probably handle it, and it’s just smooth enough in case you find yourself in a bind and need to tie one on quickly. It has a rich profile that finishes warm the whole way down! This fine rum stands up with some of the best blended rums that have ever met our taste buds!

Uniting the signature taste of Kentucky Bourbon with the legendary smoothness of Canadian Whisky is what Phillips Union Whiskey is all about, but now they’re bringing a new flavor to the masses and it’s been amplified with the natural flavor of cherry… Booze and fruit? Don’t mind if we do!
Proof: 70 (35% ABV)
Flavors: Cherry, oak, and vanilla
Taste: B+ (Very Good)
Mix-ability: B (Good
Buzz Factor: B- (Okay)
Price: $20.99 USD (750ml)
Overall: We give Phillips Union Cherry Whiskey a B (Recommended) Super sweet, in-fact maybe too sweet for some… We did like this flavored whiskey, but it tastes more like a liqueur if you ask us, and at a mere 70 proof it goes down smoooooooth, so even ladies and whiskey novices can enjoy it! We’d compare it to Jim Beam’s Red Stag, yet Phillips Union is a bit more sweet.
