Bloody Mary-Jane, Bermuda Triangle, Mint Julep [DRINKS OF THE WEEK]

Here we go again! It’s Friday, and you know what that means… We’re brining you three new and totally exciting liquor brands just in time for happy hour. This week we’re taking a look at Bong Spirit Vodka, The Lash Spiced Rum, and High Whiskey. As you can tell, these bottles look completely bad-ass, but just like grandma always says “it’s what’s on the inside that counts.” So check out our full reviews and tasty mixed drink recipes below!

The Lash Spiced Rum

Produced in the Netherlands and infused with actual spices and bourbon vanilla extract from Asia, India and Madagascar, The Lash Spiced Rum is a blend of the finest West Indies rum. Before being bottled The Lash is aged 4-years in 100% American Oak Bourbon Barrels.

The name (The Lash) comes from a famous Sir Winston Churchill quote: “Don’t talk to me about naval tradition. It’s nothing but rum, sodomy and the lash.”

Leave it sitting for too long and you’ll find sediment resting at the bottom… That’s the spices! This spiced rum is no joke, and is made specifically for sipping, not mixing.

High Whiskey

Developed by High Liquors from corn and rye, High Whiskey is distilled using copper stills and uses water sourced from ancient aquifers before it’s finally aged in charred white oak barrels. After being blended to perfection for smoothness and taste, High Whiskey is then bottled at 80 proof in super sleek cylindrical bottles. The end product is touted as an ultra premium whiskey.

High Liquors has produced a full line of ultra premium spirits. Vodka, Tequila, Whiskey and Rum. Their claim: “What sets us apart is our unwavering commitment to deliver the highest quality spirits on earth, all – under one brand name.”  We’ll be the judges of that!

Price: $25.99 USD (750 ml) Available in KY and TN, and 10 more states this summer!

Overall: We give High Whiskey an A- (Highly Recommended). High Whiskey is very smooth, it’s actually hard to believe that it’s 80 proof! After several testings our crew found this whiskey is best served mixed, but is excellent straight or on the rocks as well. We look forward to testing other spirits from High Liquors in the near future.

And is actually distilled 6 freakin’ times and filtered 4 more times before it is bottled in the unique, one of a kind, 1 liter, bong-inspired bottle designed by Jimi Beach – Bong Spirit’s artistic director.
