Drinks of the Week: Millionaire Margarita, Intense Sunrise, Seven Seas Breeze

This week’s edition of drinks of the week is fueled by Belvedere Intense Unfiltered 80 Vodka, Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum, and Distinguido Tequila Silver. Three truly unique brands of liquor that we’ve been excited to test and review for quite some time now. So gentlemen, start your livers and accelerate your eyeballs into this week’s reviews and recipes below!

Belvedere Intense Unfiltered 80

Produced from “Single Estate” Dankowskie diamond rye, Belvedere Intense Unfiltered 80 is distilled four times, then the vodka is actually left unfiltered. Supposedly this preserves its flavor and character (we’ll be the judges of that!).

The fact that Belvedere chooses to leave this vodka unfiltered is pretty special to start with, but the real reason this vodka stands out is its use of Dankowskie diamond rye, a premium “baker’s grade” grain grown on a select few farms in Poland. Dankowskie rye possesses a very creamy, and intense flavor.

Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum

Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum brand was created to honor the legacy of arguably the most famous tattoo artist ever. Norman “Sailor Jerry” Collins was the first to go to Japan to learn the sacred art of tattooing way back in the 1920s. Shortly after that he moved on to Honolulu in the 30s where he began tattooing sailors with amazing one-off designs.

Distilled in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Sailor Jerry takes its queues from Caribbean rums, that sailors would typically spice with flavors from the all over the world to make it easier for them to drink.

This year, Sailor Jerry celebrates Norm’s 100th birthday with three new commemorative bottles. The further you get into a bottle, the more you’ll notice a pin-up girl visible on the back-side of the label. As quickly as our testing began, it soon ended. Here’s why…
