For our 12th stadium, Miller Park in Milwaukee, we found a parking spot at the Best Western about 15 minute walk from the stadium.
We asked out Twitter following what bars we should hit before the game and got the same answer from everyone…tailgate! At Miller Park the parking lots open up 3 hours before the game and get packed with tailgaters. From the young kids to the elderly adults, no one was too cool to funnel before the game. If you don’t want old man river watching you pound them down, leave the main parking lot and head under the bridges to bus parking. Here you will find college students who rented private school buses and bought kegs to play flip cup and beer pong.
Miller Park had the first retractable roof we’ve seen on the trip which makes the stadium look huge — and truth be told, it was a bit overwhelming. It felt like we were watching the game in a massive atrium. In terms of bang for your buck the Mezz is the best place to watch a game so buy nose bleed tickets and sneak down. There we’re two home runs in the game so we got to see Bernie Brewers use the famous slide. That was cool. We held out for the Brewers signature food for the entire trip and the Bratwurst was just average which was a little disappointing.
Next to the Yankees and Red Sox games at the start of the trip, this game was one of the best we saw. With a tie game in the 8th inning Jim Edmonds came off the bench and hit a go ahead home run which was the game winner.
