Just when you think summer would start to cool off, it’s heating up even more. This week brings us many television options. Most notably, ABC is rolling out many of its summer premieres this week. So forget the beach and lay out in front of the TV instead.
Ultimate Car Build-Off – Discovery Channel – Monday, June 21, 9 p.m. (ET)
Series premiere. Companies compete to modify vehicles. This may sound like the ultimate guy show, but be warned: in this premiere episode, they modify a car for a busy soccer mom. So what will the companies do? Add juice box holders? Put in a sweet hidden minibar?
Wipeout – ABC – Tuesday, June 22, 8 p.m. (ET)
This is the official third-season premiere. There will be new contestants, new challenges, and the same old humiliating happenings.
Downfall – ABC – Tuesday, June 22, 9 p.m. (ET)
Series premiere. This show features trivia questions, a conveyor belt, and a 10-story building. There’s no way this can go wrong.
Primetime: Mind Games – ABC – Tuesday, June 22, 10 p.m. (ET)
Premiere of the six-part series. This episode features a serial kidnapper. The man kidnapped his high school math teacher and several others. It is unclear why he’d want to spend more time with his math teacher…maybe he tried to kidnap someone else, but his plans were FOILed (that’s a math joke…we try to keep COED cool like that).
Rookie Blue – ABC – Thursday, June 24, 9 p.m. (ET)
Series premiere. This series is about rookie cops. Grey’s Anatomy brought us McDreamy and McSteamy. Will this (remarkably similar looking) show bring us McTaser?
Boston Med – ABC – Thursday, June 24, 10 p.m. (ET)
Series premiere. This eight-episode documentary series follows (you guessed it) medical providers and patients in Boston. Another show inspired by Grey’s Anatomy? Really, ABC? Really?
20/20 – ABC – Friday, June 25, 9 p.m. (ET)
This episode remembers Michael Jackson on the anniversary of his death. I’d make a joke, but that might be tasteless.
Party Down – Starz – Friday, June 25, 10 p.m. (ET)
Second season finale. Jane Lynch returns as Constance. The catering company is working her wedding. This. Should. Be. Interesting.
Entourage – HBO – Sunday, June 27, 10:30 p.m. (ET)
Premiere of season seven. Catch all the Hollywood hijinks.

Raising Sextuplets – We – Thursday, June 24, 10 p.m. (ET)
Second season premiere. This show follows a couple with sextuplets. The couple doesn’t even seem to hate each other or their children, making it quite the novelty.
Hung – HBO – Sunday, June 27, 10 p.m. (ET)
Second season premiere. The women continue to try to pimp Ray. Don’t get jealous, now. The life of a man-whore is not always easy, as this series shows.
