Duke University's own on-campus porn starlet isn't happy with her school newspaper--and wants you to know about it...
We're moving offices today, so I get the pleasure of working from home. One of the benefits from that arrangement is I get to watch CNN. Well, their developing story today is the report that this one dude Nevin Shapiro has come forward alleging he done some shady sh*t at the University of Miami and NO ONE stopped him for 8 years, implying that the coaches and administration knew about and chose not to step in. CNN's calling this the worst college sports scandal ever. Do you agree? Check out details of the Miami scandal along with other notable college sports scandals in our slideshow then vote in our poll after the jump.
The AP reports National Guard troops at the Naco Border Patrol Station observed several people launching packages over the International Border fence via a catapult last week.Mexican officials seized about 45 pounds of marijuana, an SUV, the catapult device, and a partridge in a pear tree. Apparently, Mexico just entered Medieval Times... and I ain't talkin' bout no theme restaurant (which is awesome, btw). I think it would be funny if a movie were made about this story and one of the drug smugglers got real pissed at his gf for disobedience so he catapults her across the border. Then when he's asked what happened to her, he goes, "it was just a fling". Please mail Oscars to the office. Thanks, Academy.
Kiplinger's just released its ranking of the best value schools broken down into two major categories: public and private. Their rankings are based on a combination of academics (SAT or ACT scores, admission and retention rates, graduation rates) and affordability (total expenses for in-state vs. out-of-state students, average debt per student at graduation). While that's all well and good for penny pinchers, what about us booty chasers? We decided to take a look at which of the top "best value" public and private colleges hooks up the most.
You know that mode in Madden where you can pick a classic team for the past and pit them head to head with another classic team? '72 Dolphins vs. '07 Patriots, '85 Bears vs. '92 Cowboys, '67 Packers vs. '78 Steelers? Well, with bowl season kicking into high gear, we thought we'd overlook such travesties as the Meineke Car Care Bowl, and focus on bowl games we'd love to see played between two historically epic football teams.
What's a "Public Ivy?" It's a school that provides an Ivy League collegiate experience at a public school price. Originally, only eight schools were considered Public Ivies, but since then, more schools have been added to the list. COED breaks down what makes these Public Ivies so (inexpensively) awesome.
In this week's Douche-Off, we wanted to go with douchebaguette Karen Owen, but, upon further review, we've all done the same thing - just not in PPT (excellent presentation, btw). So, who did we pick? Read on THEN VOTE, DOUCHES!
