James Franco, born April 19, 1978, is an American actor, director and college professor known for his roles in 127 Hours, Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy, Milk, Pineapple Express, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Spring Breakers, Oz the Great and Powerful, This Is the End, The Interview and The Disaster Artist.
Frano was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in 127 Hours and won a Golden Globe for Best Actor for his role in The Disaster Artist.

James Franco has settled a lawsuit with one of his former film students, who said that he had drafted several early drafts of the film The Disaster Artist.
