The first known recorded use of the term “WAG” was in a 2002 story by British publication The Telegraph in which the reporter relayed a term thrown around by the Jumeirah Beach Club staff in reference to footballer’s wives and girlfriends. Once 2006 and the World Cup rolled around, the term became en vogue replacing the once popular, “Trophy Wife”. There’s long been an argument over which sport has the hottest WAGs. We’d like to put that debate to rest with our first annual epic WAG-off between football and… football. Check out the match-ups then vote for the hotter girl after the jump!
