Pro Wrestling’s 10 Greatest Finishing Moves Of All Time: Attacks & Throws
Finishers used to mean a lot more in pro wrestling, and that’s not to say they’re meaningless now. However, there’s something to be said for the fact that since an epic match between Stone Cold and The Rock at Wrestlemania, everyone seems to kick out of everyone else’s finisher, thus degrading their value. Nonetheless, they are still a vital part of the storyline in the ring. When used in the right place, they’re the explosive exclamation point to a climactic ending. Heavy has partnered up with UFC to launch “Fight Day Live” a 90 minute pre-fight show that takes a look at the challenges facing the fighters along with their greatest accomplishments. The event will feature former Light Heavyweight Champion Vitor Belfort challenging Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva for the belt. Thiago Silva completely destroyed Brandon Vera’s face and spirit in a dominant decision win during Saturday night’s UFC 125. Vera spent much of the bout on his back guarding his mug against Silva’s aggressive facial assault. At the end of the fight, Silva continued slapping and taunting Vera silly, ultimately leaving the usually boistrous brawler unusually humbled. (see Silva’s post fight interview here.)
