Cara Mund, 23, born in Bismarck, North Dakota, became the first ever North Dakota contestant to win the pageant on September 10, 2017.
Mund graduated from Brown University in 2016 with a degree in business, entrepreneurship, and organizations. With plans on attending Notre Dame Law School to receive her Juris Doctor, Mund is also a relative of Victoria Woodhull, the first woman to run for President of the United States.
Mund took home a $50,000 scholarship as part of her winnings at the pageant in Atlantic City. The District of Columbia, Missouri, New Jersey and Texas rounded out the top 5.
Mund the lead organizer of a fashion show that raises money for the Make A Wish Foundation for the last 10 years and has raised over $78,000 to help fund wishes for 23 kids in North Dakota.
