New Must-Play Game Releases

Summer is over and the back to school bells are starting to ring. As the seasons change and the fall gaming season waits on the sidelines ready to strike in a few weeks, there are a bunch of games releasing this week that deserve a bit of spotlight.

Whether you’re ready to jump into the story of a hormonal teenage girl in a town that doesn’t understand her or playing as a martial arts master in an open world online action game, there are some really great titles releasing to tide you over til the Fall’s big titles.

Absolver

Set in a mysterious run down world, players will create a character and lead them on a quest to master one of three combat styles in their quest to become an “Absolver”. Your quest will not be a solo journey though, as the game forces other players into your game so you can either team up or fight each other. With most of the gameplay focus set on hand to hand combat, players will explore the world fighting online players and collecting their combat deck while on their path to become an “Absolver”.

Life is Strange: Before the Storm – Episode 1

Set three years before 2015’s Life is Strange, this prequel series follows the relationship between a sixteen year old Chloe Price and the previously unseen Rachel Price. Life is Strange: Before the Storm will finally shed light on the relationship of Chloe and Rachel and how the events of the first game led up the way they did. Fans can expect a return to the branching dialogue trees and exploration around Arcadia Bay.

Everybody’s Golf

Everybody’s Golf brings the Hot Shots Golf series to the PlayStation 4 in this new (and renamed) title! Set in a lush open world, players can choose between a variety of golf courses to play on or to challenge their friends. Full of wacky characters and tons of customization, this golf simulator looks to be the best available on the PlayStation 4.

Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle

Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle looks to reinvent what players thought they knew about a Mario game. Taking on a completely new style of game play, the game features a tactical RPG approach to it’s combat (somewhat like XCOM). Pillars of Eternity: Complete Edition

Follow this epic tale as you explore Tokyo and engage in some rather interesting mini games, like a “bug” fighting mini game where two half naked women fight dressed up as bugs (that’s not even the weirdest thing).
