Jimmy Kimmel Reveals That His 10-Day-Old Son Required Heart Surgery Hours After Being Born

Jimmy Kimmel Son

I have to admit that Kimmel has grown on me significantly over the years.

Starting as the chubby C-teamer of late night television, over the years, Kimmel found his form and almost became the ‘anti’ late night host. The dude just does things differently — his own way — and it makes for a different kind of entertainment than Colbert and Fallon can provide.

Whether it be his ‘everyman’ persona or the fact that he’s willing to rip on celebrities just a little bit harder than the other two, Kimmel has developed a certain style of late night hosting where he’s more personal than usual. And because of that, it leads to moments like this.

On Monday night’s show, Jimmy and his wife Molly welcomed their second child together, William “Billy” Kimmel, into the world. At three days old, Billy had successful open heart surgery at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and is now home with his family. Kimmel opened up about his son’s birth and health complications, and I can guarantee it’ll make you appreciate Jimmy Kimmel more than you ever have.
