Longtime soul singer and actor Cuba Gooding Sr. passed away today. He’s the father of Oscar winning actor Cuba Gooding Jr.

Cuba Sr. was the leader of a soul group called “The Main Ingredient,” which were a highly popular band in the mid 1970s. They are mostly remembered for their two biggest hits “Everybody Plays The Fool” and “Just Don’t Wanna Be Lonely.”

Gooding Sr. was founded dead Thursday, slouched over in his Jaguar in San Fernando Valley. But let’s not focus on his death, let’s remember his 72 years on this Earth full on life and many words of wisdom.
