Julia Roberts has been named World’s Most Beautiful Woman by People Magazine for a fifth time (and she’s placed in People‘s top 50 eleven times). At 49, she still has got it going on. The great hair, the full lips, the high cheekbones and low legs. Yeah, we’re about it.
We also love Roberts for being an all around game changer in Hollywood. She was the highest-paid actress throughout most of the 1990s and even into the 2000s. In 2003, she made a jaw-dropping $25 million for Mona Lisa Smile (2003), paving the way for female A-listers like Jennifer Lawrence and Scarlet Johansson to earn beaucoup bucks today.
Beyond her trailblazing business ways, Roberts is also one of the most decorated actresses this side of Meryl Streep. She’s been nominated for four Academy Awards, winning one: Steel Magnolias (1989), Pretty Woman (1990), Erin Brockovich (2000 – the winner) and August: Osage County (2013). So not only does she have the box office and salary numbers to stake her claim as one of the biggest female movie stars in history, she’s also got the critical hardware to back it up. Touché.
She can next be seen Wonder hitting theaters on November 17. Here’s the official synopsis:
Based on the New York Times bestseller, WONDER tells the incredibly inspiring and heartwarming story of August Pullman, a boy with facial differences who enters fifth grade, attending a mainstream elementary school for the first time.
