The 2017 NCAA men’s ice hockey tournament field has gone from 16 teams to just four. There aren’t many surprises in this year’s Frozen Four, as we have three 1-seeds (Denver, Minnesota Duluth, and Harvard) and a 4-seed (Notre Dame) fighting to become National Champions.
Up first in the Frozen Four is a showdown between Harvard and Minnesota Duluth. The Crimson emerged from the East Regional, beating 4-seed Providence 3-0 and 3-seed Air Force 3-2 en route to the Semifinals. The Bulldogs provided a lot more drama in their Frozen Four journey, as they needed 3-2 overtime wins over both 4-seed Ohio State and 2-seed Boston to make it out of the West Regional.
This is Harvard’s 13th trip and Minnesota Duluth’s fifth appearance in the Frozen Four, and both of these schools will be looking for their second National Championship. Harvard’s first win took place way back in 1989, while Minnesota Duluth won it all in 2011.
Now that the stage has been set, let’s breakdown all of the different ways you can watch Harvard take on Minnesota Duluth.
