Better Call Saul will launch its third season in a few weeks, making it the perfect time for a Los Pollos Hermanos restaurant from Breaking Bad to become a reality in New York in April.
Around two years ago, Breaking Bad creator/showrunner Vince Gilligan took part in a Reddit AMA in which he was asked if he ever saw a real life Los Pollos Hermanos restaurant – the chicken joint Gustavo Fring used has his home base – popping up in the future.
Believe it or not… there is talk of a Pollos Hermanos becoming a real restaurant. This is not an idea that I generated personally. But it’s one that’s been presented to me, through the good folks at Sony, and the idea came to them from a businessman who has an interest in doing just that.
Speaking for myself, I’d love to see that happen!
Vince, your wish is our command.
A two-day pop-up restaurant will be erected in New York on Sunday, April 9 and 10 at 243 Pearl St. The pop-up restaurant feeding hungry Breaking Baddicts has already debuted in Austin. Per the NY Eater:
The Austin menu displays rancheros plates, breakfast tacos, burritos, burgers, and more. Although fried chicken wasn’t listed, “the pop-up served bags of curly fries, a cup of water, and three dipping sauces.”
Unsurprisingly, the restaurant is coming to town right before Breaking Bad prequel Better Call Saul premieres its third season April 10 on AMC.
The restaurant will be open April 9 from 11:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. and April 10 from 10:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. You can expected delicious chicken dishes and absolutely zero old man wheel chair bombs blowing up half your face. Enjoy.
