The #8 ranked Kentucky Wildcats will look for their third straight SEC Tournament championship and their 30th SEC postseason title overall. Kentucky ran through SEC competition this year, winning the regular season crown with a 16-2 record in conference play and earning a double-bye in the conference tournament. After sitting out the first two rounds, #1 Kentucky beat #8 Georgia 71-60 in the quarterfinals and #5 Alabama 79-74 in the semifinals.
Standing in Kentucky’s way of another SEC championship is Arkansas. The Razorbacks also earned a double-bye in the tournament after they finished tied for third place in the regular season with a 12-6 record in conference play. The #3 seeded Razorbacks knocked off #6 Ole Miss 73-72 in the quarterfinals and #7 Vanderbilt 76-62 in the semifinals.
In the regular season, Kentucky smoked Arkansas in their lone meeting. At the Rupp Arena on January 7, the Wildcats cruised to a 97-71 victory over the Razorbacks.
