Oregon and Arizona finished the regular season tied for first place in the Pac-12, as both teams posted stellar 16-2 records in conference play. On February 4, the Ducks beat the hell out of the Wildcats 85-58 in front of a raucous Eugene crowd.
To reach the championship game, Oregon beat #8 Arizona State 80-57 in the quarterfinals and #5 California 73-65 in the semifinals. On the other side of the bracket, Arizona made it to the championship by defeating #7 Colorado 92-78 in the quarterfinals and #3 UCLA 86-75 in the semifinals.
