I'm about 8ish months preggers (again) and I look it. I've been gradually coming to the conclusion that men suck. I didn't get a single subway seat offered to me by a man throughout my first pregnancy. In contrast, women tend to be awesome and notice the people around them. So for the second pregnancy, I had this made and I've been carrying it around everyday – till last Friday. This guy is the winner! #subway #nyc #pregnant #socialexperiment
Yvonne Lin, a 38-year-old designer, alleges that she went through TWO entire pregnancies until a man offered her his seat on the subway. Maybe I have a little too much faith in my gender, but I have a hard time believing this lady went an entire year and a half until she stumbled upon one decent dude.
Look, men aren’t perfect, but I’m pretty sure at least 50% of men would give up their seat to a pregnant woman. Unless this lady takes the subway once a year, there’s no shot she ran into that many assholes.
Lin, a 38-year-old designer from New York, claims she was offered plenty of seats from women (girl power, right?), most of which she says were Latino and black women.
“I didn’t get a single subway seat offered to me by a man throughout my first pregnancy, so for the second, I had this (trophy) made and I’ve been carrying it around all day.”
The bronze statue is essentially a Hulk look-alike tearing his shirt, with a caption that reads, “#1 DECENT DUDE. First man to offer subway seat to pregnant woman throughout two pregnancies.”
Do men suck as Lin says we do? Of course. But I offer my seat on the bus to not pregnant women. That doesn’t really have much to do with anything, I just want all the ladies reading this to know how good of a guy I am.
