Lorde has been quiet since blowing everybody away with her debut album Pure Heroine back in September of 2013. The album was both a critical and commercial success, as it won numerous awards and went 3x platinum in the US. “Royals” was Pure Heroine’s most beloved track, and it won Grammys in the Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance categories.
After Pure Heroine, the only new music we’ve really gotten from Lorde was her contribution to The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Pt. 1. “Yellow Flicker Beat” was the lead single of the soundtrack, which was released in November of 2014.
Thankfully, this cruel drought ends today. The 20-year-old from Takapuna, Auckland, New Zealand is finally ready to bless us with some new music. Here’s what Lorde has to say about her new single, which is entitled “Green Light.”
The music video for “Green Light” is scheduled to hit the web on Thursday, March 2 at 2:00 P.M. ET. And you bet your sweet ass I’m staring at the clock waiting for this bad boy to drop.
It’s here! Enjoy the lead single from Lorde’s sophomore album Melodrama.
