A Brooklyn high school has been evacuated due to a bomb threat, police say. Bomb threats have been on the rise lately, with 22 being called in against Jewish Community Centers across the country on Monday. However, this incident is not known to be connected to the recent string of bomb threats.

Thousands of students and faculty are currently gathered on the tennis courts outside of the school as authorities investigate.


What Happened

Midwood High School on Bedford Avenue near Glenwood Road was evacuated following a bomb threat at around 11:15 A.M. EST this Tuesday. A bomb squad has been sent to school premises, according to police. As of now, no explosives have been found by the NYPD Bomb Squad, officials say.

No injuries have been reported and the evacuation was ordered to err on the side of caution.
