Single-Engine Airplane Crashes Into Massachusetts Apartment Complex

Massachusettes State Police confirm that a small plane crashed into a building in Methuen, Massachusetts. The crash happened on Riverview Boulevard, which is across the Merrimack River from the Lawrence Municipal Airport, on Tuesday.

There is no word of any injuries or deaths at this time. The Methuen Fire Department says there was only a pilot on board the single-engine aircraft at the time of the crash.

No other details, including the pilot’s condition, were immediately available.

According to the Boston Globe, the Federal Aviation Administration said the private plane was a Sonex aircraft making its final approach for a landing on Runway 14 at Lawrence Municipal Airport. the aircraft was approximately one mile out from the airport.

The crash is being investigated by the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board.
