For years, Game of Thrones has flung its main characters all across Westeros and beyond for their own individual adventures. This has definitely made for some spectacular TV but it hasn’t stopped fans from desperately hoping for a few reunions and meet-ups for certain characters. Now, star Liam Cunningham (who plays my main man Ser Davos) is hinting that characters will in fact be linking up this season. Sweet.
Here’s what Cunningham had to say to IGN:
“The progress of the show with the White Walkers and all that stuff, it’s pretty obvious nobody’s going to be able to take this force on their own. So when we’ve had all these, for all these seasons, disparate stories come from disparate ends of Westeros, it has been – and it’s been signaled from the end of last season – that there’s a lot of people and situations going to be coming together. It was kind of interesting to meet some people who I normally only meet on a red carpet. Who that is and when that happens remains to be seen.”
Cunningham may be trying to be coy, but GoT fans are too smart/delusional to fall for such theatrics.
We know Cunningham’s character Davos is currently in the company of everyone’s favorite bastard Jon Snow, so we can safely assume that Davos, Snow, and company will be involved in these “coming together” situations. Of course Arya could arrive at Winterfell to surprise Jon and Sansa, but we’re holding out hope for something a little bigger.
Think about it: if you just reclaimed Winterfell and were looking to ally yourself with a powerful friend that will help in the fight against the White Walkers, where would you go?
Our money is on Jon and Daenerys meeting up in the seventh season and forming the best alliance in GoT history while simultaneously fulfilling years of hopeful fan fiction predictions. Stay tuned, Game of Thrones is slated to return this summer.
