Rachel Lindsay Is The First Black Woman To Be Cast As ‘The Bachelorette’

ABC has finally found their first black Bachelorette!  ABC has cast current The Bachelor contestant Rachel Lindsay as the next lead of the franchise, with an official announcement airing on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

The news of Lindsay’s casting was first reported by Reality Steve, who pointed out that Bachelor “showrunner Mike Fleiss has been not-so-subtly hinting at a potentially ‘historic’ announcement on Jimmy Kimmel Live tonight.”

Lindsay, a 31-year-old lawyer from Texas, attended the University of Texas where she graduated with a degree in Kinesiology and Sports Management. After her undergraduate career, Lindsay went to law school at Marquette University. She now practices at Cooper & Scully in Dallas, Texas where her expertise is insurance law.

I’ve only watched The Bachelor once in my life, but as far as I can tell, Lindsay is way, wayyyyy to good for this show. I mean, she’s a beautiful Texan lawyer. What more can you ask for?
