As if the Knicks weren’t already a completely shit-filled dumpster fire, legends are now going after the owner while sitting courtside.
Former New York Knicks power forward Charles Oakley got heated during the first quarter of the Knicks game against the Los Angeles Clippers. He was hauled off the floor by security after shoving security guards around.
According to reports, he was allegedly going after the Knicks’ billionaire owner James Dolan.
According to ESPN’s Ian Begley, Phil Jackson was seen trying to calm Oakley down in the tunnel, surrounded by security. As Jackson attempted to calm Oakley, Oakley screamed, “This is bullshit!” Oakley also referenced owner James Dolan, saying “Dolan did this.”
Oakley has been charged with three counts of assault for hitting security guards and criminal trespassing, the NYPD says. Oakley will either be issued a desk appearance ticket or, if the Knicks press assault charges, may spend a night in jail.
The Knicks’ official PR team released a statement on Twitter:
Somebody needs to just euthanize Melo on center court. Put the poor dude out of his misery.
