WWE SmackDown Live Results

Randy Orton vs. Luke Harper – Loser Leaves The Wyatts

This one was real barn burner, to quote Mauro Ranallo. Harper really held his own against a 12-time world champion. But Orton is way too dominant and gave an RKO out of nowhere the now-former Wyatt member.

In-ring Segment with Mickie James

Mickie James is in the ring being interviewed by Rene Young. James explained the reason why she returned was to crush this pretentious new women’s division, who think they’re better than the ones who came before them. She sees Bliss as a hard worker, so she doesn’t count I guess. Becky Lynch comes out looking for retribution. She appears to have the advantage over Mickie James, but Bliss popped out of nowhere. Becky gets brutually assaulted by both Mickie James and the current SmackDown Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss.

Carmella & James Ellsworth Go Shopping

This segment was both ridiculous and pretty funny. Ellsworth even donned former the garb of former WWE pimp character The Godfather. Carmella is looking great and is helping Ellsworth pick out the best outfit. He even pulled off a wicked Elvis impression. Ellsworth is wacky! I love it.

10-Man Over The Top Battle Royal – The winner earns the right to enter the Royal Rumble

This was a very quick encounter. One moment that stood out was The Ascension using underhanded tactics to eliminate Heath Slater. I wonder if this means that Rhyno & Slater will feud with The Ascension. But Mojo Rawley really shined in this match.

AJ Styles – John Cena Promo

AJ Styles come out to the ring and complains about the poster of the Royal Rumble. John Cena’s is at the center of the poster, while the WWE World Champion AJ Styles is all the way in the back. He then shows a talk show interview with Cena, where they don’t even mention Styles by name, and act like it’s guaranteed that Cena will win his 16th world championship this Sunday. Styles says while Cena was away, AJ has held SmackDown on his back. Cena comes out and trash talks Styles. He says that AJ may have held down SmackDown for 8 months, but Cena has been leading the WWE for over a decade. Cena doesn’t make excuses unlike Styles. He says he was custom-made for the WWE and will defeat him at the Royal Rumble.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Kalisto

This was a very short match-up. Dolph dominated, but Kalisto showed flashes of brilliance with his aerial action. Dolph put him away quickly.

Dolph Ziggler defeats Kalisto

Post-match: Dolph gets a steel chair and is about to assault Kalisto. But then Apollo Crews comes out to defend his friend. Ziggler and Crews brawls, and Apollo gets the upper-hand. Dolph retreats, while Apollo stands besides Kalisto.

Planned Match: Naomi vs. Natalya

Naomi is in the ring waiting for Natalya to make her entrance. But then we see backstage footage of Nikki Bella attacking Natalya. Nattie attacked Nikki earlier in the night and now she is looking for some retribution. The match is off, but Naomi still wants to wrestle. She calls out anyone from backstage for a fight. Alexa Bliss comes out and calls Naomi irrelevant, telling her she hasn’t even been on television in three months. Naomi now wants to fight the women’s champion. Alexa looks like she’s going to answer her challenge, she steps up on the ring apron. But then she changes her mind, steps down off the ring apron and walks away.

Intercontinental Championship Lumberjack Match: Dean Ambrose (c) vs. The Miz w/ Maryse

This was a very entertaining, back-and-forth match that is definitely worth watching on repeat. The Miz looked phenomenal. Dean looked great as well. Ambrose had the most trouble with the lumberjacks. After a devastating clothesline, Ambrose pinned The Miz and the lumberjacks swarmed the ring. Corbin broke up the count and we get a preview of the Royal Rumble with all those bodies in the ring at once. When the lumberjacks left, Dean regained control and hit Miz with a Dirty Deeds.
