UFC referee Herb Dean’s decision to end Amanda Nunes’s beatdown of Ronda Rousey by TKO after just 48 seconds in the main event of UFC 207 was probably the right call. Rousey was completely defenseless to Nunes’s onslaught of punches, and to keep the fight going any longer would have put Rousey in serious danger. With that being said, the barbaric side of our nature deep down wishes that Dean would have given Nunes a bit longer to try to score an iconic knockout.
Other than that TKO finish, every fight on the pay-per-view portion of UFC 207 went the distance. But during the preliminary bouts, welterweight Alex Garcia delivered a first-round knockout to remember with a single menacing right to the face of Mike Lyle.
