Brit Marling is a 33-year-old actress, screenwriter, and producer from Chicago, Illinois. She made her on-screen debut in 2007, playing Charlie Hall in the short film The Recordist. Brit would make her television debut in 2011, taking on the role of Paige in the 2011 “Early 21st Century Romanticism” episode of Community.
2011 would end up being a huge year for Brit, as she co-produced, co-wrote, and starred in the films Another Earth and Sound of My Voice. Brit pulled triple duty again in 2013, co-producing, co-writing, and starring as Sarah Moss/Jane Owen in The East.
Some of Brit’s most notable acting roles have been as Brooke Miller in Arbitrage (2012), Rebecca Osborne in The Company You Keep (2012), Karen in I Origins (2014), Augusta in The Keeping Room (2014), and Liz Garvey in the TV series Babylon (2014).
But up to this point in her career, Brit is most definitely best known for her work on The OA. Not only did she play the lead role of Prairie Johnson/The OA in the mystery drama series on Netflix, she was also a co-executive producer, co-creator, and co-writer. The OA hit Netflix on December 16, 2016 and it immediately blew minds everywhere, as it currently boasts a 70% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
