George Michael, Pop Star And Former Wham! Member, Dies At 53

George Michael, the former Wham! member and solo pop star, died today at age 53 years old, according to the Associated Press. Michael died peacefully in his sleep at his home, according to his publicist.

Michael rose to fame as a member of the duo Wham!  along with fellow Englishman Andrew Ridgely in the early 1980’s. Then beginning in 1987, Michael began his successful tenure as a solo artist.  In total, Michael sold over 100 million albums during his lifetime.
