College Bowl Picks: Odds, Spreads & Lines For Week 2

Bowl Season has not been kind for your boy. I missed all of my picks last week, and missed another one yesterday. I’m sitting here with an 0-6 record like a goddamn jack ass, and haven’t been able to buy any Christmas presents because all of my money is going to my bookie. In trying times like this, most people would just give up before doing any more damage to their bank account and run away like a coward, but I’m not like most people. I do my best gambling after I’ve dug myself a huge hole that I need to crawl out of. 0-6 is in my rearview mirror, and I’m ready to take the rest of this week by storm. There’s a change it gets uglier for me before I start seeing the wins roll through, but here are the winners I’ve got for this week:

Boca Raton Bowl: Western Kentucky -7 vs Memphis

I have no reason as to why I’m taking Western Kentucky other than their name is the Hilltoppers and that’s kind of cool. Besides that, they also had a pretty nice season going 10-3, and are capable of putting up a ton of points. This could end up being a stupid pick, much like my first six picks were, but I’m still rolling with WKU.

Famous Idaho Potato Bowl: Idaho +13.5 vs Colorado State

You’ve got to take Idaho here, this is their bowl game (sort of not really)! This is essentially a home game for them, and Colorado State will be without their starting quarterback. I know Idaho hasn’t really beaten anyone significant this year, and I don’t expect them to even win this game, but I think that they’ll at least keep it close.

Dollar General Bowl: Ohio +4 vs. Troy – Lock of the Week

Maybe this is just my blind loyalty towards the MAC, but if you think I’m not taking the Bobcats of Ohio University, you’re out of your damn mind. The MAC is 0-2 on the bowl season and hasn’t shown any signs of promise, until now. The bleeding stops on Friday with Ohio leading us and MAC fans everywhere to the promised land. OU Oh Yeah! MACtion, baby! Let’s go!

Armed Forces Bowl: Louisiana Tech -6 vs Navy

I feel very unAmerican not taking Navy here, but I’m 0-2 betting on them this year and just tired of them breaking my heart. My main reason for taking Louisiana Tech here is because I think they’ll be able to shut down the Navy running game, and if Navy can’t run the ball they can’t score. I don’t feel great about this pick, but here I am making it. Let’s Go Bulldogs.

Popeyes Bahamas Bowl: Eastern Michigan +4 vs Old Dominion

I literally know nothing about either of these teams. Never watched either of them play my entire life, let alone this year, but here’s why I’m going with Eastern Michigan. I can’t imagine that Old Dominion is any good at football whatsoever, and last time I checked Michigan has some pretty good football in their state. I’m also man enough to admit that’s one of the dumbest reasons for ever picking a game to bet on, so feel free to go against me with this pick.

I didn’t get off to the start I was hoping for, but let’s get back on track this week. Merry Christmas you filthy animals (or whatever other holiday you celebrate that isn’t as good as Christmas)!

Record on the season(started in Week 7): 19-22
Locks of the Week: 3-5
Bowl Season Record: 0-6
