When did Andrew Garfield become a legit actor? One day he’s starring in those shitty Spiderman reboots, and the next he’s headlining two Oscar contenders directed by Mel Gibson (Hacksaw Ridge) and Martin Scorsese? What is happening?! What year is it?! Oh, that’s right, it’s 2016, where literally anything has become possible.

Second thought: CANNOT WAIT to see Liam Neeson back in a real role. People my age tend to forget, or never knew, but Liam Neeson used to be one of the best actors of his generation (and still is). He’s been churning out these old-man-gets–revenge-action movies for like a decade now, so it’s good to see our boy Liam Neeson back in a serious role.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Martin Scorsese’s SILENCE tells the story of two Christian missionaries (Andrew Garfield and Adam Driver) who face the ultimate test of faith when they travel to Japan in search of their missing mentor (Liam Neeson) – at a time when Christianity was outlawed and their presence forbidden. The celebrated director’s 28-year journey to bring Shusaku Endo’s 1966 acclaimed novel
