On last night’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, they busted out the classroom instruments for a special performance of “Enter Sandman.” Watch Metallica, Fallon, and The Roots rip it up in the video below.

Fallon’s classroom instruments bit is one of my favorite recurring segments in late night television. It never fails to put a fun spin on a song and last night was no different. Even with all the goofy ass xylophones and kazoos, “Enter Sandman” still makes me want to run through a goddamn brick wall. That song is 25 years old, but it still gets the job done like no other. It’s the Mariano Rivera of heavy metal bangers, which made it so fitting that the closer used it for his entrance song.

Speaking of longevity, Lars Ulrich is still a gigantic dickhead. Just look at this guy and tell me you don’t want to knock that Kangol right off his domepiece. What a smug bastard.
