We’re back again after going with our 3-2 with our picks from last week, which is what we in the business call a “winning week.” I missed my Lock of the Week, but even Michael Jordan missed a shot here and there. So you’re welcome to anyone that was smart enough to listen to me, which probably wasn’t too many people, but whatever your loss.
Now on to this week’s slate of games, which I don’t feel as good about as I did last week, but I think I can at least go 3-2 again and put some money in your pockets, so let’s get right to the picks.
Wisconsin -3 @ Iowa
I may have gone against Wisconsin last week as they were getting a ton of points at home versus Ohio State, so I’ll own up to my mistake on that one, but Iowa kind of stinks. After going undefeated in the regular season last year, they’ve lost to North Dakota State at home, and to Northwestern, who are usually near the bottom of the Big Ten. Wisconsin has looked impressive in almost all of their games this year, and I think they should take care of business against the Hawkeyes.
Texas +2 @ Kansas State
Unlike a majority of Texas fans, I am a Charlie Strong fan. I think Strong has gotten a bad rap since he’s been at Texas. He inherited a bad team and everyone expected him to lead them to a championship right away, which clearly wasn’t going to happen. It sucks because there’s a good chance he gets fired after this year and I think he deserves better than that. Plus, I bet on a Kansas State over earlier this year, which didn’t hit, so that program is dead to me. Texas in the upset; hook ’em horns baby!
Alabama vs Texas A&M OVER 59
Both teams have high scoring offenses, and Alabama’s defense, especially in the secondary, isn’t what it once use to be, so I expect there to be touchdowns galore in Tuscaloosa on Saturday. Plus, you’re a total dork if you bet on the under. Who likes to watch low scoring games anyways? Give me all the points.
Arkansas +10 @ Auburn
We rode the Hogs last week and they covered, so we’re riding them again this week, boys and girls. I think Auburn probably should win this game, but I think ten points is a bit too much for two teams that are pretty evenly matched. I strongly dislike Arkansas’ coach, Bret Bielema, but he won me money last week so I have to stick it out with him again this week. Woo Pig Sooie!
Ohio -3.5 @ Kent State: Lock of the Week
MACtion! Listen, there really aren’t too many games I like, so why not show the MAC some love and take the first place team over the fourth place team in the East Division. I don’t really know much about either team, and by that I mean literally nothing at all, but I had friends that went to Ohio and it was a damn good time, so we’re going with the Bobcats as the lock of the week. OU Oh Yeah!
