Bad news today for fans of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as it was just reported that wide receiver Vincent Jackson was placed on IR with an ACL injury.
Jackson is 33-years-old and currently in the final year of a five-year, $55.55 million contract, so it looks like we’ve seen the last of Jackson in a Tampa Bay uniform. The 12-year vet posted three consecutive 1,000 yard campaigns for Tampa from 2012-2014, but injuries have caused Jackson to finish the last two disappointing seasons on the IR.
With the three-time Pro Bowler sidelined, I’d have to think this would result in Jameis Winston pumping even more targets to world-beater Mike Evans. WR Adam Humphries and TE Cameron Brate should also get a slight boost in value for all of you fantasy football fiends out there.
