1′: And we’re off. Liverpool vs. Manchester United. Doesn’t get much better than this “Red Monday”. The atmosphere at Anfield is absolutely electric.
2′: Marcus Rashford flies into James Milner but the Manchester United youngster is fortunate not to get a yellow card.
5′: There’s just something not quite right about the Red Devils wearing these all-blue uniforms.
6′: Zlatan Ibrahimovic fires a free kick high over the Liverpool net to the delight of the Liverpool faithful.
9′: Neither team has been able to make their presence felt so far. Still no shots on goal or serious chances.
14′: Still no shots on goal. Manchester United have most of the possession but haven’t done anything with it.
16′: A shot from distance by Man U’s Marouane Fellaini takes a deflection and is saved by the Liverpool keeper.
17′: A Zlatan Ibrahimovic shot from outside the box is deflected and safely saved by Loris Karius.
23′: Emre Can fires one over the Manchester United net. Neither side has troubled the other team’s keeper so far.
25′: Rashford does well to fire a low cross across the 6 yard box but Karius is able to get a touch on it before a Man U forward can.
30′: Roberto Firmino heads a cross right at David de Gea in Liverpool’s first chance of the afternoon.
31′: A couple hard fouls don’t draw any yellow cards from the referee.
35′: Liverpool are starting to get a bit of rhythm going forward. Both defenses have stood firm so far.
41′: I feel like I should be giving you more updates but I swear nothing much is happening.
44′: Manchester United’s Eric Bailly gets the first yellow card of the game for a clumsy but not malicious tackle.
45’+1: Ashley Young picks up a yellow card after arguing that a Liverpool tackle should have resulted in one. Still 0-0 at halftime. Let’s hope this one opens up a bit in the second half.

46′: The second half begins. A quick goal would liven this one up.
53′: There’s been a better pace to this second half, but neither defense has been opened up yet. Still knotted at 0-0.
54′: Liverpool substitute Adam Lallana is warming up on the sideline.
55′: Ibrahimovic gets behind the defense and gets a chance at a header but the big Swede couldn’t control it.
58′: Emre Can gets a low snap shot in the box on goal but David de Gea makes a good diving save to his right for Manchester United. Best chance of the game so far.
60′: Liverpool Substitution: Adam Lallana replaces Daniel Sturridge
63′: Liverpool are starting to build momentum going forward. Lallana is making an instant impact.

71′: Coutinho fires a beautiful curling strike to the upper right corner from distance but de Gea makes an extraordinary denial.
72′: James Milner is down hurt after a collision. Play is stopped for the doctors to tend to him.
74′: Milner is OK and play continues. Liverpool is bossing the play currently.
76′: Lallanna threads it through to Roberto Firmino but the flag goes up for offside. England captain Wayne Rooney is preparing to enter for Manchester United.

84′: Firmino had a breakaway after a magnificent flick by Coutinho by Valencia made a crucial tackle before the Liverpool man could get a shot off.
86′: Liverpool double substitution: Divock Origi replaces Roberto Firmino and Alberto Moreno replaces Sadio Mane.
91′: Fellaini gets a yellow card for a physical, retaliatory challenge
