Just two weeks remain until we get the first college football playoff committee rankings of the season, but until then we’ll continue to focus our attention on the AP poll.

Ohio State completed a dramatic come-from-behind victory to beat Wisconsin, and the J.T. Barret-led Buckeyes team retained the #2 spot behind Alabama. The Badgers dropped two spots to #10.

Clemson needed a missed chip-shot field by North Carolina State at the end of regulation to survive a scare in Clemson, and were supplanted by idle Michigan for the #3 position.

Though West Virginia have yet to play any of the top teams in the big 12, the 5-0 Mountaineers 48-17 victory over Texas Tech proved enough to the voters to see them move up 8 spots to #12 in the biggest gain of the week.

Tennessee’s 49-10 spanking at the hands of Alabama resulted in them tumbling from #10 to #19. Only 3-3 Ole Miss took a bigger plunge, falling 11 spots to #23 after falling to Arkansas.

North Carolina defeated Miami 20-13 in Coral Gables and re-entered the top 25 at #22. LSU also returned to the top 25, earning the final spot in this week’s rankings.

Miami and Virginia Tech- who lost to Syracuse- were the only teams to drop from the rankings this week.

This upcoming week is highlighted by a massive SEC matchup on Saturday afternoon between #1 Alabama and #6 Texas A&M.
