Once again, we are reminded of the power that sports have in uniting people in times of need.

In a cool move by the Redskins, owner Dan Snyder is sending Pierre Garcon and Ricky Jean Francois to the victims of Haiti with a plane full of medical supplies. The death toll in Haiti has surpassed 1,000 people as the country battles outbreaks of cholera after Hurricane Matthew ravaged the country.

Garcon and Jean Francois, both of Haitian decent, have previously raised awareness and money for Haiti in times of tragedy. During the 2010 earthquake, both players asked for support and campaigned hard for donations in order to aid in relief efforts. Currently, Garcon still has family on the island, but told the media that his family made it through the hurricane and they are safe.

This is not the first time that Dan Snyder has helped victims of the hurricane. According to Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network, Snyder and his wife Tanya sent a plane full of water and medical supplies to the people of the Bahamas , who were also hit hard by Hurricane Matthew.
