One of the biggest matchups on the Week 5 schedule happens at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis as the 3-1 Houston Texans face the 4-0 Minnesota Vikings. It was very unexpected for the Vikings to be this good and are making their new stadium a destination for their fans. Houston is trying to hold on to their grip in the AFC South and have been leaning very heavily on their offseason acquisitions to get the job done. Here is a look at the matchup.
The Titans won 27-20 last week against the Tennessee Titans before hitting the road for this one. Brock Osweiler has 949 passing yards, five touchdowns and six interceptions for the season. Will Fuller V has 19 catches for 323 yards and two touchdowns while Lamar Miller has 351 rushing yards. Miller needs to find his way into the end zone at some point soon even with his high yardage totals. The defense will be without J.J. Watt for the rest of the season but is still dynamic and will cause problems for Sam Bradford and the Minnesota offense all afternoon.
The Vikings remained undefeated with a 24-10 win over the New York Giants on Monday night. Bradford has passed for 719 yards and four touchdowns in his three starts with the team. Stefon Diggs has 25 catches for 372 yards and a touchdown while Kyle Rudolph has 19 catches and three touchdowns. Jerick McKinnon has done a great job filling in for Adrian Peterson with 138 yards rushing and a touchdown but needs to continue improving. This is a Minnesota team built on their defense who have been stellar all season long and could have a field day against Houston’s passing game.
