Have you ever seen The Shawshank Redemption? If yes, good on you. If not, kindly engraciate yourself with American culture you f*cking hermit crab, because the tale of Andy and Red is about as American as Budweiser. Speaking of Budweiser, that’s exactly all this escaped Arkansas inmate desired when he heroically (yes, HEROICALLY) broke out of Logan County Jail.
According to Arkansas Online:
The manhunt for 45-year-old Shaun Higham, which had grown to include several state agencies and the U.S. Marshals Service, ended peacefully about five miles outside the town of Paris, Logan County Sheriff Boyd Hicks said.
But how does an encounter with an escaped convict possibly end without incident? That’s simple: he got all he wanted out of his journey … a beer.
Higham turned up at Mitch’s Place on Arkansas 22 Tuesday night, he was wearing a dirty prison uniform and covered in insect bites. A motorist called before 9:15 p.m. to report a man matching Higham’s description walking along the road. While police were searching the area, the owner at the bar called to say that Higham was there wanting to turn himself in.
When police arrived, Higham was drinking a beer and surrendered without incident
Sounds like a guy I’d want to be friends with. I wonder if he has his very on version of Red.
