With the Summer Olympics right around the corner, we figured it would be a perfect time to get acquainted with U.S. Olympic swimmer Kathleen Baker. The Winston-Salem, North Carolina native specializes in backstroke, freestyle, and individual medley events, and she swims for UC Berkeley and the U.S. National team. Kathleen just finished up her freshman year at Berkeley, and it was highlighted by a 2nd place finish in the 200-yard individual medley at the 2016 NCAA Championships. On the international circuit, Kathleen took home four medals at the 2013 FINA World Junior Championships, and she won a silver medal in the 200m free relay at the 2014 Short Course Worlds.
The 19-year-old will now try to add some Olympic hardware to her trophy case after her outstanding performance at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials. On Tuesday, June 28, Kathleen punched her ticket to Rio by finishing 2nd in the 100m backstroke final. It will be Kathleen’s first Olympic appearance, and to celebrate the occasion, we should all do our patriotic duty and take a look at 22 of her hottest photos. These colors don’t run, and Kathleen doesn’t skip ab day.
