Bo Pelini's Final Meeting With Players Costs High School Employee $262.50

Purdue v Nebraska

Sometimes helping out friends can come at a cost. A high school employee in Lincoln, Nebraska learned that the hard way this week. The employee allowed fired Nebraska coach Bo Pelini to use the school’s auditorium to have one final meeting with his players. That employee was then billed $262.50 because they didn’t go through the proper protocol for using the facility. [photo: Eric Francis/Getty]
A fund was set up according to the Lincoln Journal Star where over $560 was raised in less than a day so the staffer will be fine taking care of this. It is a real shame though the school thought it was necessary to charge the employee for the auditorium. It should have been an honor and a pleasure to have a major college coach in the building even if it was a released fired one.
The bill was for custodial and utilities costs. The lights probably had to be turned on and someone had to clean up after the players. The employee probably didn’t have to worry about paying for it anyway. Pelini likely would have picked up that tab. Maybe a call to FauxPelini is in line to see what they think about this.
